What a busy week! As always I hope this article finds everyone healthy. I want to first thank everyone that attended the 2nd Annual First Responders Day at the Capitol.
Winner Fire Department was called to a farm near Hamill on Feb. 28 for a machine shed fire. Submitted by Jack Diez.
Little did Jared Dilley know that after six months on the Clear Lake Fire Department he’d be involved in rescuing two people from a house fire.
April is a busy time of the year. Easter is in a couple weeks. School track meets, golf, and baseball games are in full swing. The first quarter weather for 2017.
Around 7 pm on Monday, Mar. 6, Mulvane PD received an urgent “teletype” to all Law Enforcement Agencies in Kansas from the Sheriff of Comanche, KS.
Jamie Curtis, age 23, the Fire Chief of Weir, KS died on Jan. 13th of a sudden illness. He is survived by his wife and two small children.

The Dassel Fire Department’s training burn took place in an old farmhouse on a property about two miles south of Dassel.
The Excelsior Fire Department responded to a report of smoke in a garage in Shorewood on Dec. 8. Upon arrival, flames were seen and the detached garage became engulfed in flames.
