Go into the year with a positive outlook

Happy New Year! As we begin the year take a moment to reflect on the past and then dive into the future. We’re about to embark on an adventure that only we can determine the outcome. I ask everyone to go into the new year with a positive outlook with the highest intentions to achieve the goals we envision in our thoughts and dreams.

It takes an attitude such as this to lead a positive team of people that share the same passion as you. It’s my job to encourage all of you to do more and help make your visions a reality. The board of the IFA is working diligently to give you a retirement program to financially honor you for your dedicated service to your communities. We’re also working to give you incentives to recruit new members to your local fire departments.“Recruitment and Retention” These are the top two topics that have been on our agenda and will probably remain at the top for years to come but it’s important that you look at your own department and your community demographics to see how you can market your department to attract new members.

Upcoming events this month are the Board Meeting Jan. 8th at 10 a.m. at the Radcliffe Fire Station and Firefighter Day on the Hill / Chili Cook Off Feb. 1st at 10 a.m. at the Capitol.

Until next month, Serve with Pride, leave the negativity in the past and be positive in your future.

Chuck Raska,

IFA President
