Red Oak vehicle fire

On March 26 at 3:57 p.m. the Red Oak Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire in the 900 block of Oakwood Ave. This call came in as the department was already handling two calls at the time of this one. Fire crews arrived on scene and found a passenger vehicle with fire coming from the engine compartment, spreading to the interior. The fire was contained to the vehicle with the vehicle being a total loss. No injuries to civilians or firefighters. The first responding fire engine was assigned to suppression while the new wildland grass truck was assigned to mitigate any extension of fire to the nearby field. Fireground operations were terminated without incident. Assisting agencies: Montgomery County Communications and Red Oak Police Department.
